Painter - Powder Coatings

Authority:

Painter is selected and appointed by the Shop Floor Supervisor of Nema Enclosures and has been delegated the authority required to successfully accomplish all of the duties and responsibilities of this position.

Education:

Required: High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience:

One or more years’ experience in Painting or related mechanical or electrical background

Skills, Knowledge and Ability:

Ability to read and comprehend drawing and procedures written in English; Must be willing to perform and capable of performing manual labor in a production environment; Ability to perform basic reading writing and math skills

Body Positions/Strength:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to work in a production facility where walking, standing, kneeling, and bending for prolonged periods is required. Must have the ability to lift 50 Pounds with regularity

Working Conditions:

This position will be working primarily indoors which requires moving through areas of a production environment on a regular basis. Some outdoor exposure will be encountered .Normal auto travel will apply. Travel and working conditions will be in all types of weather including sun, heat, wind and humidity. Noise level in the work environment is usually loud, but will be higher in other areas

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Clean and prepare parts for powder coat spray.

• Spray powder paint on parts to customer specifications

• Clean spray booth between color changes to prevent cross contamination.

• Maintain spray guns, spray booth, hoppers, and oven.

• Properly clock in to and out of all job packets/orders to ensure accurate routing times and margins.

• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized working environment.

• Comply with policies, guidelines and regulatory requirements per established Nema Enclosures policies and procedures.

• Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.

• Understand special material handling required for safe handling and labeling requirements.

• Maintain and ensure that all associated documentation is accurate.

• Provides hands-on job function training to coworkers as needed.

• Inform Nema Enclosures Shop Floor Supervisor of any necessary or desired requisitions regarding equipment or facilities maintenance.

• Inform management of developments that may enhance Nema Enclosures operations and provide more efficient processes.

• Respond to emergencies promptly and be capable of organizing and leading corrective action steps.

• Responsible for conforming to Nema Enclosures quality system procedures as documented.

• Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately.

• Recommend new processes where needed for safety improvement, cost reduction, and organization of work area.

• Perform Ad Hoc duties as required by management.

Termination:

The following shall determine the immediate termination of employment for this position and any position while employed by Nema Enclosures.

• Absenteeism/Tardiness

• Alcohol and drug use

• Abuse of Nema Enclosures equipment and/or property

• Poor work performance, poor evaluations

• Failure to follow Nema Enclosures policies and procedures

• Rudeness to clients or employees

• Theft

• Negligence resulting in a financial loss to Nema Enclosures

• Out of uniform

• Poor attitude toward customers and Nema Enclosures employees e.g.; refusal to work with particular employees or customers
