Nema Enclosures is seeking a results-driven VP of Production to lead our manufacturing operations. This critical leadership role is responsible for overseeing the entire production process

Duties and Responsibilities:

Production Execution & Throughput

  • Execute production schedule set by Planning Lead, ensuring resources (labor, equipment, training) are aligned to hit output targets.
  • Own execution from released to floor through WIP to Finished Goods (WIP→FG).
  • Ensure ≥92% on-time delivery performance in coordination with Production Planning.
  • Maintain real-time awareness of shop floor status, priorities, and bottlenecks across all departments. Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing initiatives focused on waste reduction and process optimization.
  • Implement and sustain 5S, Kaizen, Standard Work, and Visual Management systems. Demonstrates a passion for teaching Lean methodologies, building team capability, and creating sustainable operational improvements. Six Sigma & Process Improvement
  • Apply Six Sigma and DMAIC methodologies to drive measurable operational improvements.
  • Utilize Root Cause Analysis, Pareto Analysis, Fishbone Diagrams, and Process Mapping.
  • Establish KPI tracking and production performance dashboards. ERP Systems & Reporting
  • Utilize ERP systems to manage production workflow, labor tracking, and operational reporting.
  • Generate reports related to throughput, downtime, scrap, labor utilization, and delivery performance.
  • Maintain accurate production and operational records. Shop Floor Leadership & Priority Alignment
  • Own and enforce daily production priorities across all departments (Laser, PB, Weld, PC, Assembly), aligned with the schedule.
  • Collaborate with department leads to ensure clear, consistent direction and execution.
  • Act as the central point of accountability for execution clarity across the shop.

Labor Management & Productivity Control

  • Perform daily labor balancing to ensure proper staffing by department and alignment to workload.
  • Steward total labor hours, ensuring efficient use of regular time and controlled and intentional use of overtime
  • Ensure accurate time tracking and labor allocation across all production employees.
  • Safety & Compliance
  • Maintain full accountability for workplace safety performance. Immediately address and manage all safety incidents and injuries.
  • Ensure all incidents are properly documented and OSHA-compliant.
  • Reinforce a culture where Safety → Quality → Delivery → Cost drives all decisions

Quality Execution

  • Ensure all production output meets quality standards defined by the Quality organization. Partner with Quality to address defects, training gaps, and process issues.
  • Reinforce adherence to standard work and procedures across departments.
  • Cost Control & Process Efficiency
  • Evaluate manufacturing processes for cost effectiveness and feasibility.
  • Identify and implement improvements to reduce cost, increase throughput, and improve efficiency
  • Optimize use of labor, materials, and equipment to meet productivity targets (measured in dollars output).
  • Systems, Scheduling Feedback & Coordination · Adjust production execution to meet productivity and delivery goals.
  • Develop and implement recovery plans for late or at-risk orders.

Training, Development & Team Management

  • Own all production employee training and development.
  • Document and track all training activities; report updates in weekly management meetings. Conduct performance evaluations, including compensation adjustments.
  • Build team capability to support scaling production and improving consistency. Workforce Administration
  • Approve and manage PTO scheduling in coordination with production needs.
  • Ensure staffing levels align with production demand and scheduling requirements.

Documentation & Compliance Systems

  • Maintain and update ISO procedures and documentation as required in conjunction with the Quality Manager.
  • Ensure operational processes are documented, standardized, and followed. Communication & Management Participation
  • Participate in management meetings, providing updates on production performance, labor utilization, and risks to delivery
  • Communicate clearly across departments to maintain alignment and execution pace.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Perform ad hoc duties as required to support business needs and operational priorities
